It’s been so long since I’ve read the Twilight series that I will have to try really hard to remember everything! What I do know for sure is that Stephanie Meyer is very good at writing, and something I liked about her books is that everything made sense. All of the action and adventures that went on made sense. It didn’t seem like stupid dangers were made up just so Edward could protect Bella. Of course, it’s all a paranormal vampire book, so it’s all bogus. But in the paranormal sense, and in the sense that a girl met a vampire and fell in love with him and has various dangers that come along with that, it all made sense. The love story is adorable of course, and I really love how old fashion Edward is. He still thinks about relationships in a conservative sense. Got to appreciate that! Meyers is a Mormon, so of course that’s not surprising, but nonetheless, the romance and adventure within the Twilight plot was well written I think! Isn’t my favorite paranormal book series to date, but it was when I read it 5 years ago.
Characters: 15 points
What’s not to like about Bella, Edward, and Jacob? They’re all gorgeous and swoon worthy. The Cullen’s’ are all charming, the Indians/Werewolves are good rivals (I think Meyers does a good job with the rivalry, by the way), and all-in-all, all the characters were well developed. Bella and Edward have a beautiful love story!
Names of characters: 4 points
I didn’t have any problems with the names of the characters, which is why I still wanted to give this area 4 points, it’s just that none of the character names particularly stood out as being cute or sensual, and that’s something I look for and want in romance books.
Writing/Depth: 30 points
Meyers is really good in this area! I like to feel fully engaged when I read a book and I want to be able to understand and feel emotions within it as if they were my own. Meyers does a great job at doing that! The scenes were well written, and I felt like I could understand everything Bella was going through. That's pretty good for someone who has never fell in love with a vampire! LOL. Good job Meyers!
