Finally a great stand-alone book!!!
I really, really liked the plot of this book!!! It was intense, and real, and raw, and endearing all in one book.
You see a girl fighting love because she doesn't believe in it. And you see a boy that stops nothing short of words filled with shear hate from a girl to show her that he genuinely likes her and cares for her.
You feel the pain in Jack and Hadley, the affection they feel for each other, and the passion between them.
It's all good!!! The tears of sadness, tears of joy, the laughter and anger. There's a little bit of all of it in this book.

Hadley... damn she's stubborn. Stubborn and cold. Stubborn, cold, and stupid (only) when it comes to picking a good job. There were times when Hadley's cold heart really pissed me off... I just can't imagine anyone being so mean to such a great guy. But her fear of love really torments her and keeps her from getting passed the surface of her heart, until she finally breaks through it so she can see the depths of it and allow herself to feel what she knows she needs to feel.
Jack: Just wasn't the kind of guy I thought he would be in the beginning of the book. He seemed a little shy and mysterious...that was one of the things that made me decide to buy the book. In reality, he's very talkative and easy-going. I still loved Jack... he made me laugh on several occasions. But if you just read the sample, you won't get a good picture of how Jack really is in this book. Still I loved him, and I loved that he was a fighter. Even when he got treated like crap, he still fought. I adored him!

This was a new author for me! And I very much enjoyed her writing. She really is superb... I wouldn't be surprised if she was a real journalist. If she wasn't, the research she must of had to have done for this book is amazing.
She adds so many emotions in this book.. and the humor is perfect! There were a lot of intense moments in this book, but I still laughed my butt off a good portion of the time.
The romance was also pretty kurt and not overly graphic or excessive. I liked that! Sweet and simple.
Great going Bell! I'll be reading more of your books in the future for sure!
